Parent and teacher conversations

I don't know where to start, how do I talk to the school?

I don’t know where to start, how do I talk to the school?

Mother: Started from the emails… backwards and forwards… to this day I still email a lot of the teachers to see how the kids are doing.

Phone calls… If I can’t make it up to the school or you are too scared.

Principal: There is staff in all schools that can direct people in the right direction.

The best thing to do it to get in contact with the student’s teacher, of they are in primary school. Or if they are in high school their year level coordinator.

Mother: Nothing will happen if you don’t ask for help. Nothing will change.

Principal: When we work together as partners… we know our children experience success and have more opportunity in the world.

The next steps are us generally to meet with the parent. Either on their own or with their child and start to discuss their needs.

So generally it’s out initial conversations… for us to figure out what we need to do next. A plan around how we can move forward… and then a regular review of that.

Our quest is to be partners with our parents in helping our humans be amazing future world citizens. Because we need them to be. But it starts with a conversation.
